Teaching & Leadership in Art Education: A Decade of Creative Facilitation

The Art Tribe, established in 2019, focuses on creative art lessons for children and received recognition for its community service efforts.

My interests and involvement in the arts span a wide range of experiences starting with my role as a teaching intern in 2008 where it allowed me the chance to share my passion and skills with younger peers. I nurtured a passion for teaching fine art, working as an art facilitator across various centers in Singapore. This journey, spanning from 2008 to 2022, saw me guiding students aged 3 to 16 in creative expression, shaping my philosophy that art is a powerful tool for personal and communal growth.

Shaping Young Minds Through Art: My Journey with The Art Tribe

As the head facilitator at The Art Tribe, I developed and led classes while mentoring a team consisting of assistant teachers, lesson planners, curriculum illustrators and copywriters. My leadership extended beyond the classroom, where I helped curate merchandise for sale by launching an e-commerce website, manage operations, and built strategic partnerships and liaisons with collaborators and merchants. Leveraging on my background in art and multidisciplinary design, my time with The Art Tribe gave me the opportunity to share my idea for how children can engage better with art and visual expression.
