SurplusChef — Service concept

Reducing Food Waste with a Community-Driven Mobile Application
** This work was part of my design thesis project at the National University of Singapore. It represents an early phase of the year-long module, where the service concept emerged after multiple rounds of ideation. Though it was ultimately set aside based on feedback from the tutor panel, I still believe it is a strong concept, even if it did not progress to the final design execution stage.
SurplusChef is a service concept that uses a mobile application to connect neighbours, enabling them to share and use surplus ingredients within their community. By creating a collaborative cooking and sharing network, the app concept fosters sustainable practices and reduces food waste at the consumer level through locally driven service solutions.
