My position as a gallery assistant at one of Gillman Barrack’s galleries in the arts enclave, during a brief stint in 2016 allowed me to engage with artists, collectors, and enthusiasts in the vibrant arts precinct.

As I delved into the intricacies of social media contents for the gallery, I assisted in launching the gallery’s online presence, ensuring its connection with a broader audience through well-crafted and engaging content. This experience highlighted the intersection of art and digital media, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in connecting with the public.

Beyond hosting the artists in residency, I conducted extensive research on the gallery’s roster of artists, helping me gain a deeper understanding of contemporary art’s nuances and the evolving global landscape. Whether assisting with the seamless management of the gallery’s inventory or hosting exhibition openings, I developed strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

These skills were invaluable when I facilitated tours and hosted events such as Art After Dark and Art Day Out in Gillman Barracks. The gallery’s involvement in prestigious art events like Art Basel further emphasized the global influence of contemporary art and its role in fostering dialogue across cultures.

The resources provided to me were instrumental in enriching my understanding of the broader art ecosystem, allowing me to stay informed on global trends, exhibitions, and critical discussions during my time with the gallery.
